WISCONSIN ✅! Totally worth the 9 hour drive! We started off strong going to a Milwaukee Bucks game! It was a nail biter game but the Bucks won, and we were on the big screen!
Day 2 we went to The Potter's Shop and we each made our own “wall pockets”, we all enjoyed this! Followed by a visit to Waukeshas only Independent Bookstore, Martha Merrell's Books and right across the street was the yummiest candy shop, Allô! Chocolat!
Day 3 we got to explore the coolest cave that is over 400 million years old, Cave of the Mounds. Some areas were a pretty tight fit for Jeff! The story behind how the cave was discovered is fascinating! Followed by an evening at the Waukesha Civic Theatre to watch local artist perform in Song for a New World!
Day 4 was a BeYOUtiful day for the BeYOUtiful Half Marathon & 5K. Despite looking at the time wrong and showing up 20 minutes late, we still had a great time. Jeff, Kristen, and JT all took 2nd place in their age groups. Jt also won a chocolate gift basket!
After that we did some shopping at the local farmers market and had a drink at a local bar! We will definitely have to come back for more Bucks games!

Many of you made a point of stopping in yesterday during Independent Bookstore Day. Thank you!
Despite the health or financial challenges of the past year, customers have continued to shop here. We know that the effects of the pandemic are long-term and that a bookstore is not a necessity such as mortgage or rent payments or buying groceries. That makes us doubly grateful each time the door opens and a customer comes in to shop.
Our warmest wishes for your good health and happiness...... ... See MoreSee Less
Readers and writers are essential components of a thriving society that is both literate and creative. Our intention has always been to help both flourish in the communities where we have lived and worked.
Karen, you are certainly correct about our store having a variety of things besides books. We try to listen to what customers tell us they would like to have available in the store as well as reflect on items that make a connection with the books that we have on our shelves. Realizing that not everyone is a reader, we look for other options that engage our brains or expand our horizons in this journey called life.
That means a lot to us. We will make every effort to be deserving of your support.
We are trying our best to be flexible while meeting the needs of our customers safely. With warmer weather coming and vaccines being available, let's hope for the best......
Hugs to you, Eve! Thanks for supporting local authors!
Thank you so much for everything you do!! I can't wait to see what 2021 has in store!
